Kajang by-election: March 23 is polling day

The Election Commission (EC) has set March 23 for the Kajang state by-election today, with the nomination day set on March 11.

EC chairman Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof said, this would provide a 12-day campaign period for the country's first by-election this year.

The state assembly seat fell vacant on Jan 27, after the sudden resignation of PKR assemblyman Lee Chin Cheh.

Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced on Jan 28 that he will be contesting for the seat.
