More details of Kanye’s hospitalization are coming in, and the most recent reports are claiming Kanye got violent before being admitted.
According to TMZ, Kanye was handcuffed to his stretcher because that is standard protocol when police are told someone is on a 5150 hold, which authorizes a qualified officer or clinician to involuntarily confine a person suspected to have a mental disorder that makes them a danger to themselves or a danger to others.
Kanye was taken to UCLA medical center and reports claim that his doctor wrote that Kanye was suffering from temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration. That sounds absolutely horrible, and unfortunately that’s not all. TMZ also reported that Kanye’s personal physician was the one who called 911 and told them that Kanye had attempted to assault a staff member at the gym. The doctor also warned cops that while Kanye was not currently violent at the time he made the 911 call, he would become violent when the police arrived to help him. Cops arrived shortly after at his trainer Harley Pasternak’s home and took him to UCLA Medical center, handcuffed to the stretcher.
