Jason DeRulo was definitely in for a rude awakening when he agreed to go up against Katharine McPhee in a lip sync battle.
Katharine McPhee is more than a pretty face who can sing, girlfriend can lip sync it like no other and Jason DeRulo totally learned that the hard way.
To be fair, both singers definitely brought their A-game and managed to bring the house down with their incredible performances, but it was Katharine who was named the winner in the end. The former American Idol contestant started off the show with a pretty simple performance of Mystikal’s ‘Shake Ya Ass,’ but let’s be real here, it was no match for Jason’s first song choice.
That’s right, the singer fought back with Ginuwine’s ‘Pony,’ took off his jacket in the middle of the performance and even threw in a couple ‘Magic Mike’ moves in there for all the ladies in the audience. But in the second round, it was pretty clear that Katharine was the clear cut winner of the show because she totally did Jason dirty by using his own song against him.
Not only did Katharine perform a super sexy rendition of Jason’s ‘Want To Want Me’ in nothing but a body suit, she also showed off her crazy core strength by doing crunches while hanging from a man’s shoulders with her legs. Yeah, you heard me, this girl was NOT playing around.
I don’t know about you, but the battle should’ve totally stopped there because Katharinel KILLED it. However, it is a fair competition, so they gave Jason one last shot at the trophy and this was his rebuttal.
Well, you gotta give it to him, he did do a pretty great impression of Rick James’ ‘Super Freak,’ but it clearly wasn’t good enough to win because at the end of the night, it was Katharine who was crowned as the winner of the battle. Poor Jason, Katharine pretty much destroyed him with his own song.
