Kendall Jenner says being related to Kim Kardashian almost ruined her life! Dude, finally a Kardashian clan member who admits it’s embarrassing to be a Kardashian clan member! Though I am kind of exaggerating. Here’s the real story. In a new interview by LOVE Magazine where Kendall beautifully graces the cover, she explains that all her life her plan was to grow up and become a high fashion super model. I totally relate. I’m sure you do to. But that when she started going to castings whenever they’d recognize her name OR when they’d recognize her face- since secretly casting directors love some late night KUWTK binges- they’d basically dismiss her from the casting. They were like- we don’t want no reality tv stars repping high profile fashion brands. But in the same article, KIM explains “She had to work extra hard to gain this respect and to fight for people to see she's serious. Marc Jacobs gave her a real shot and treated her like any other model. He believed in her and opened the door for her. Then Riccardo and Karl gave her a chance and she has proven that she is the real deal. Her hard work paid off, and that makes me so proud." I’m not exactly sure what exactly IS the hard work involved in being a super model. Last I checked you show up at a casting, they take a Polaroid of you, and then you walk right back out. When I think of hard work I think of what most of YOU probably do on a daily basis. But then again, what do I know. I’m not a super model. Interestingly enough, Kendall says she tried to distance her Kardashian family from her shows. "[Kim ] was invited to a lot of the shows that I was in," Kendall recalled. "She called me before and was like, 'Hey, I was invited to the show, I just wanted to let you know. Do you want me to come?' and I was like, 'No.'" Probably a smart move. Despite some producers turning their cheek at the Jenner sister, I’m sure in general her name and fame have only helped her career. You don’t have Marc Jacobs bending over backwards to take a chance on any 5’10” pretty 18 year old. But when your big sis has him on speed dial on her phone- things get a little easier for you.
