Kevin Hart’s life has turned into something straight out of a movie. TMZ is reporting that Kevin Hart was the victim of a multi-million dollar extortion attempt. The good news is that the FBI is on the case and are said to already have a suspect in custody. Police told TMZ that an anonymous person contacted Kevin’s team and provided a five-minute video showing Kevin and a woman in a sexually provocative situation including a bedroom scene- but they can’t make out who exactly is in the bed.
The anonymous person demanded a huge amount of cash in return for keeping the video private. In fact, there were several demands and at one point the amount hit 10 million. But not so fast! The FBI are convinced it’s either the woman in the video, or the person who recorded it that are making these demands. And since the video was clearly recorded without Kevin’s consent, it’s illegal.
But Kevin’s problems are far from over. On Saturday he issued a public apology to his pregnant wife and kids via Instagram where he admits to wrongdoing. He captioned the video, “Sending so many apologies to my wife & kids. I gotta do better and I will. I'm not perfect and have never claimed to be ...I love you all.” Now watch Kevin get more real than ever.
We gotta hand it to Kevin for being honest, apologetic, and for telling the public more than they deserve to know. Kevin wrapped up his heartfelt video saying he knows he’s wrong, and there are no excuses for it. But in addition he doesn’t want someone to make financial gains from his mistakes, he’d rather confess to his wrongdoing than let that happen. Do you guys think Kevin is doing the right thing here by coming forward? Tell us your first reaction to this extortion attempt down below in the comments.
