Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun announced that the police have arrested a 19-year old Form 6 student in Kelantan who had allegedly built an improvised explosive device (IED) that police claim was meant to be used to attack the Better Beer Festival among other entertainment outlets and non-Muslim places of worship in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
Fuzi explains that the suspect had conducted a test of his device at a clearing near his home in Kelantan where one out of two bombs he constructed was succesfully detonated.
Two others were arrested alongside the 19-year-old.
