[KiniNews] Former human resources minister M Kulasegaran has hit out at Dr Mahathir Mohamad's statement on Indians in a recent interview.

Kulasegaran said Mahathir's latest remarks on Indians was intentional and meant to gain political support.

This comes following an interview that Mahathir had when he said that Malaysian Indians are not completely loyal to the country as they still identify with their country of origin and speak Tamil primarily.

Meanwhile, Gerakan plans to push Perikatan Nasional to condemn Mahathir's latest controversial statement.

Party president Dominic Lau told Malaysiakini that they plan to raise the issue at the next coalition leadership meeting.

Mahathir is currently aligned with Perikatan Nasional and is the advisor in the four states governed by the coalition.
