#KiniNews: Muda to go solo in state polls; Tensions flare over Lokman's 'biawak hidup' jibe

[KiniNews] Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has announced that Muda will be contesting on its own in all six states in the upcoming state elections.

“We want to make it clear that we will be contesting in the state elections using our strengths and mandates,” Syed Saddiq said at a press conference in Petaling Jaya today.

He also dismissed talks that they would be splitting votes for the unity government, saying that the politics of fear-mongering should end.

Syed Saddiq added that the reality was that if promises were fulfilled, reforms were implemented, power was returned to the people, and people’s votes were not taken lightly, then there would be no need for Muda to contest.

Meanwhile, in a separate story, MCA Youth secretary-general Daniel Wa has called on the party to boycott the upcoming state polls and to not help candidates who have become arrogant after becoming friends with DAP.

This comes amid tensions within BN over Umno supreme council member Lokman Noor Adam for implying that MCA and MIC were deadweight.

When quizzed on the matter today, BN Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said that the BN top brass does not endorse personal opinions of any component party leaders in BN and it was not their official stance.
