#KiniNews: ‘Going solo' - Muda not influenced by outsiders; Don't be 'overhasty', says Kit Siang

[KiniNews] The announcement by Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman that the party will contest solo in the upcoming six state elections was made by the party leadership, after consulting grassroots and was not influenced by any external party.

This is according to Muda secretary-general Amir Hariri Abd Hadi, who said that they were not acting under anyone else's orders.

"There are those who try to portray Muda as being used by certain quarters (former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad in this context) to go solo in the state polls."

"They (those making such claims) believe that just because their parties are being controlled by 'political dinosaurs', other parties must also be the same, he said.

Meanwhile, in a separate story, DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang has advised the party to not be overhasty and to continue cooperating with the unity government in the upcoming six state elections.

Lim said Muda should reconsider their decision to go solo in the polls.
