[KiniNews] Perikatan Nasional has demanded the government and TV3 to come clean on the reasons for the opposition coalition’s takbir raya being cancelled at the eleventh hour.
PN deputy secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan claimed that TV3 cited “technical problems”, which he termed as “odd and unacceptable”.
"Therefore, PN urges the management of TV3 and the federal government, particularly the Communications and Digital Ministry, to come clean on this issue and deny that there was any political interference to prevent the video from being aired," he said.
It was previously reported that PN had secured a five-minute slot on TV3 for its takbir raya - the reciting of the takbir to mark Aidilfitri - to be aired on the eve of Hari Raya Aidilfitri on Friday.
However when the appointed time came, a TV3 online livestream instead aired a drama along with a series of commercial advertisements, including a Hari Raya Aidilfitri greeting from Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
