#KiniNews: Hamzah pans PM's targeted diesel subsidy announcement; Perlis MB's son claims trial

[KiniNews] Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s announcement on targeted diesel subsidy has caused unease among the people, said Opposition Leader Hamzah Zainudin.

Hamzah pointed out that Anwar, in his live telecast, failed to address the “elephant in the room” on the starting date for the blanket diesel subsidy removal in Peninsular Malaysia.

"Also, what is the government’s mechanism to channel assistance to the people? The people want to know, when will the fuel price increase? How can they apply for assistance?" he asked.

“After many months, the government is still practising the concept of ‘announce first, think later’,” said the Perikatan Nasional secretary-general.

Meanwhile, in a separate story, the son of Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli was charged in the Kangar Sessions Court today with submitting false claims of RM19,505.10.

Mohd Syafeeq Mohd Shukri, 35, pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read before judge Norsalha Hamzah.
