[KiniNews] PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has warned that Malaysia could be controlled by non-Muslims if Malays have low political awareness.
Hadi claimed that Perikatan Nasional enjoyed the support of the Malays but Pakatan Harapan was now in government because it enjoyed non-Muslim support.
"Although PN succeeded in winning the Malay and Muslim votes, Harapan (formed the government) by winning the non-Muslim vote. Non-Muslim turnout was 98 percent while Muslim turnout was only 68 percent. This is worrying," said Hadi.
Hadi added that Malays must appreciate the importance of voting and elections.
Meanwhile, Lim Guan Eng has criticised Hadi over his remarks.
He called the Marang MP’s claims a “systematic sabotage campaign” to undermine the coalition government and condemned Hadi for lying to support his claims on the Malay voter turnout rate during the 15th general election (GE15).
