Barisan Nasional chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said his party is prepared to field candidates for the six parliamentary seats held by Bersatu, if they are declared vacant.
According to Zahid, these seats used to belong to BN and Umno should be given priority to contest in these constituencies.
Meanwhile PAS is seen to be taking a wait-and-see attitude regarding the effect of the constitutional amendment made by Bersatu to prevent more of its elected representatives from supporting the government.
However its vice president Mohd Amar Abdullah said PAS is ready to move its machinery as it should if the seats become vacant and by-elections take place.
