[KiniNews] Umno has reinstated former Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman’s membership, more than two years after suspending him in October 2022.
Tajuddin was supposed to be suspended for six years after this open criticism against Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and the party, but this was reversed through a supreme council decision last night.
Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the supreme council has unanimously agreed to rescind and retract the suspension of Tajuddin’s Umno membership effective immediately.
Meanwhile, in a separate story, Umno Veterans Club secretary Mustapha Yaakub has urged Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to give the tourism portfolio to someone more capable of protecting Malaysia’s good name.
This was in response to Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Tiong King Sing's remarks on the signboard issue and his apology to China tourists.
Tiong has clarified that his apology to the people of Japan and China was due to a serious accident involving tourists from there and had nothing to do with the signboard issue.
