Kuala Lumpur Nov 16, 2013: The Kuala Lumpur segment of a simultaneous protest in Johor Bahru in solidarity with other similar protests in cities around the world, fell flat with only four people holding two placards participating.
The protest was over alleged human rights abuses and atrocities committed by Sri Lankan forces on Tamil civilians during the closing states of the 30-year civil war in 2009.
This year the biennial Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting is hosted by Sri Lanka's capital.
The Prime Ministers of Canada, India and Mauritius have kept away from Colombo over concerns on Sri Lanka's human rights record during its war with the Tamil Tigers of Tamil Eelam. The alleged atrocities have been well documented in documentaries such as No Fire Zone by filmmaker Callum Macrae.
