The Hadid sisters are fighting against President Trump’s latest executive order in the form of peaceful protest.
Gigi and Bella joined fellow protesters in NYC to take a stand against Trump’s recent immigration ban, which targets seven Muslim-majority nations and will prohibit refugees from those countries from entering the United States.
Bella held a sign that read “We are all humans”, while Gigi walked hand-in-hand with fellow protesting friends chanting QUOTE, “No hate, no fear, immigrants are welcome here”.
Trump’s ban hits home for the sisters slash supermodels, as their father Mohamed Hadid is a dual Jordanian-American citizen, and is of Muslim and Palestinian descent. Gigi’s boyfriend, Zayn Malik, is also a Muslim and an emigrant from the UK, so she’s undoubtedly protesting in support of him and his family, as well.
Gigi hasn’t been afraid to speak her mind on political issues before, as she previously tweeted her support for the Women’s March, writing QUOTE, “So inspired by the incredible & unique humans in this world everyday. Thank you for beautifully demonstrating how to put gender, race, religion aside & come TOGETHER for what is right.” It’s awesome to see Gigi AND Bella putting their feelings on the ban into action in the form of peaceful protest, and hopefully they’ll inspire others to put their thoughts into action, too.
