Bella vs. Gigi: Hadid Sister Who RULED 2017

2017 flew by faster than we could say happy new year and with another 365 days, came countless moments when the Hadid sisters slayed the model game so because we apparently have to make everything a competition, let’s determine who ruled 2017, Bella or Gigi Hadid.
Clearly they’re both amazing so think of this list as more of a celebration than a competition.
Kicking things off with the sister we were introduced to first, Gigi Hadid. Gigi Hadid’s career has skyrocketed since she debuted in the fashion world and now at the young age of twenty-two Gigi is considered a household name. How many twenty-two year olds do you know who have been named Glamour’s Woman of the Year?
Pretty cool. Not only was she named Glamour’s Woman of the Year, she also collaborated with the shoe God himself, Stewart Weitzman. Gigi has fronted ad campaigns for the shoe brand since 2015 but now she’s movin on up to slapping her own name on some edgy mules. Some of the designs featured an eye on the top of the foot that was meant to symbolize an evil eye to protect those who wear it from negative energies. I’ll take two pairs.
And on top of being a boss before she’s even old enough to rent a car in the U.S, Gigi also continued her fairytale relationship with former One Direction member, Zayn Malik. They’ve lasted quite some time now and we’re talkin celebrity in years. That’s like dog years. They slayed Halloween this year with a couples costume that would make Stan Lee proud. Zayn went as Spiderman while Gigi stunned in a Felicia Hardy jumpsuit.
And you know what’s even better than having an adorable boyfriend you love? Um starring in Versace campaigns with him. Donatella Versace is obsessed with Gigi Hadid so it was a no brainer when she chose Gigi and Zayn to star in the Versus Versace 2017 spring/summer campaign.
I’m tellin’ you girlfriends had a good year. There must definitely be something magical about the name Hadid because Bella Hadid had one heck of a 2017 as well. I mean hello, she had a Nike Cortez Campaign. The campaign ran back in June and featured Bella chilling by a pool in her new kicks. Surely starring in the campaign was a big deal for Bella because we all know she loves her some sneakers.
Yeah that became an internet favorite for sure, but speaking of which, Bella landed herself on Tumblr’s List of 2017’s Most Popular Models alongside her sister.
Then not only did she walk in the Oscar de la Renta Show, she closed it.
That’s a big deal. It’s actually a huge honor for a designer to ask a model to close a show, which I know from watching all of my America’s Next Top Model top quality knowledge so good for Bella.
Bella achieved a billion other things this year, but closing out our list is the fact that she earned her wings this year in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
