Selena Gomez's Mom APPROVES Of The Weeknd & Find Out How They Avoided Bella Hadid At Met Gala 2017

Selena Gomez and The Weeknd made their red carpet debut during last weekend’s Met Gala and received the seal of approval from one very important person.
The verdict is in and Hollywood’s new favorite couple has officially been mom-approved.
Celeb couples: they’re just like us – they dine at Olive Garden, attend music festivals together AND their parents do adorably-embarrassing things to make it known that your new flame has been family-approved.
And all thanks to the beauty of the ‘screen shot’, we’ve learned that Selena Gomez has won the seal of approval from her mom Mandy Teefey after her new boyfriend Abel shared an Instagram photo to his account. The Weeknd’s photo of the couple dressed to the nines on the Met Gala steps marked their first-ever red carpet appearance together, and although it’s already received over 2 million likes and comments combined, only one seemed to stand out from the rest.
Many fans were quick to notice a heartfelt-relationship-approved comment written from Selena’s mom’s ‘kicked2thecurbproductions’ account, that said QUOTE, “Glowing, smiling, looking health and equal love. Mama is happy XO.”
I don’t know about you guys, but that’s definitely something I can see my own mother writing… but it seems as though Mama Teefey really does know best as the happy couple clearly weren’t hiding their relationship on the carpet while walking hand in hand, cuddling and kissing all night.
BUT one Met Gala attendee in particular may not have been as ecstatic about the new couple and there’s really nothing worse than being in the same place at the same time with your new beau and your ex… thankfully neither Abel nor his ex-girlfriend, Bella Hadid, whom he walked the Met Gala red carpet with last year, seemed to mind that they were in each other’s presence.
It was also reported that they were able to steer clear of each other as Bella arrived late to the show. A source told E! News that QUOTE, “There was no sign of Bella anywhere near them. Bella was actually still outside going through the exhibit while Selena and The Weeknd were at dinner. You have to go through the exhibit to end up in the Temple of Dendur room where the dinner is, so Bella mainly stuck back hanging with friends laughing and having fun.”
