Lawmakers from the Pakatan Harapan and Parti Warisan Sabah expressed their disappointment over the failure to get the two-thirds Parliament majority it needs to amend Article 1(2) of the Federal Constitution which will be the first step of making Sabah and Sarawak equal partners with peninsular Malaysia. Many criticised the Opposition MPs for choosing their political agenda over the rights for Sabah and Sarawak people.
