Leonardo Dicaprio’s facial expression-gone-viral was a big hit during last night’s Golden Globes, and now we’re bringing you the story behind the meme right here on Clevver’s Trophy Life.
Last year was Chrissy Teigen’s cry face, and this year Leo’s unmistakable side-eye just proves that it wouldn’t be a successful award show without a viral Internet meme.
Leonardo Dicaprio was definitely the hot commodity last night at the 2016 Golden Globes, but not just for his big win for his role in The Revenant. As it turns out, he also won the Internet over by unwillingly becoming the victim of the next viral social media meme, and we’ve got Lady Gaga to thank for this one.
Just as Lady Gaga accepted her Globe for her role in American Horror Story: Hotel, she glided past the tables without looking back, in true Countess fashion, but Leo, who was caught completely off guard, was also caught by the cameras making this epic facial expression:
