Candi Lor is a temple made​​of red brick. The temple is believed to be the symbol of the city of Nganjuk inception. This is confirmed from the evidence in the Anjuk Ladang inscriptions.

It is known that Mpu Sendok, as the king of Mataram, ordered Rakai Hinu Sahasra, Eakai Baliswara and Rakai Kanuruhan in 973 years to build a shrine named Srijayamerta as a sign of the determination area of Anjuk Ladang.

In the area of ​​the Lor temple there are two tombs of Mpu Sendok's courtiers ; the Elder Kerto and the elder Kerti. The Lor temple is situated in the village Candirejo, Loceret subdistrict and stood on theland area of ​​42 x 39.40 meters. The broad base is about 12.40 x 11.5 meters, and it has 9.3 meter high.
