Meghan Markle Reveals HOW Prince Harry Proposed & MORE Engagement Details

The announcement came from Kensington Palace Monday morning followed by the newly engaged couple stepping out on the palace grounds to pose for photographs. Meghan looked absolutely stunning wearing a white coat while showing off that gorgeous new rock on her finger. The ring was designed personally by Harry and features two diamonds from Princess Diana’s collection that surround the central diamond from Botswana where Harry and Meghan have often vacationed. The royal family has given their blessing as well as Meghan’s parents. Harry followed suit with tradition by asking Meghan’s parents for permission to take their daughter’s hand in marriage and they happily gave their approval. They released a statement saying - “We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry. Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and are very excited for their future together.”
Meghan is also the first American to marry into the royal family which marks a huge milestone in the history of the monarchy, especially when you factor in the beautiful fact that she is of mixed race. Her father is Caucasian and her mother is African American. Real life Princess Tiana? Yes please. Meghan described the proposal saying QUOTE - “It was a cozy night, we were roasting chicken… and it was an amazing surprise. It was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got on one knee . I could barely let [Harry] finish proposing. I said, ‘Can I say yes now?’” They posed for their engagement portrait today and revealed further details about the big day. They will be wed in the spring of next year but the location has yet to be announced. As for titles, If Harry receives dukedom by Queen Elizabeth II on his wedding day, Meghan would then become a Duchess. Some reports believe Harry will receive the title Duke of Sussex or Duke of Clarence, so Meghan could become Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex or Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Clarence. Harry is fifth in line to take the throne. And as if the whole thing wasn’t already the epitome of a fairytale, Prince Harry said he knew he was going to marry Meghan from the moment they met. According to Us Magazine, Harry first fell in love with Meghan because of her philanthropy which of course is something that was a huge part of his mother Princess Diana’s life.
Meghan is an American actress who recently wrapped her final season of Suits who you also may recognize from Fringe. Meghan did a beautiful spread in Vanity Fair and told the acclaimed magazine QUOTE - "We're two people who are really happy and in love. We were very quietly dating for about six months before it became news, and I was working during that whole time, and the only thing that changed was people's perception. Nothing about me changed. I'm still the same person that I am, and I've never defined myself by my relationship."
