Love trumps homophobia in Ausralia! And Hollywood couldn’t be more ecstatic.
First of all, I can’t believe it’s taken this long for Aussies to get with the program and let gay people marry. Then again, in Switzarland women didn’t get the right to vote until the 70s so sometimes obvious things take time. Anyway, congratulations to every Australian on the globe for such a powerful step forward. After a two month long survey, Australians made their voices heard and marriage equality will be instituted by the end of the year! And celebs are buzzing about it on Twitter.
Miley Cyrus tweeted "Yes!!!!! Congrats Australia! Every step taken is one closer to World Peace! Love love love you! Proud to be Australian by association lol." And what a FINE Australian to be associated with. Ellen Degeneres tweeted an image of a rainbow hued Australia with the message "It’s a g’day. Way to go Australia. #MarriageEquality." Kylie Minogue who’s Australian tweeted, "Love is love, always was love, always will be love." Sia tweeted lots of rainbow flags with the quote "The Australian people have spoken loud and clear. #LoveIsLove." Sam Smith was overjoyed. He tweeted like 10,000 rainbows and crying emojis and the words yes yes yes yes. Nick Jonas showed his support. So did Josh Gad, Debra Messing, James Corden, Ricky Martin. However Zeke Smith tweeted “Australia, you have officially earned the right to no longer be called "The Florida of the World." UH, as a FLORIDIAN… I completely support that message. Also, shout out to my girl Sherin in Australia who can now marry whoever the F she pleases. Emoji fist and emoji rainbow for my girl. Anyway, show your support for Australia’s LGBTQ community in the comments below. Hit me up directly on my social media. It’s why it’s there. So we can be friends and exchange ideas and sarcastic humor. Also, don’t forget to click here for what guys really think about getting dumped, all on our new show Dude View.
