The Grammys are shaping up to be SO extra, we can’t even handle it! There are so many incredibly performers on the lineup, and they just keep on coming! This week, the Grammys announced that former Grammy winners U2, Kendrick Lamar, and Sam Smith will be performing at the show. Kendrick has a whopping 7 nominations this year, so we’re definitely expecting him to add at least a couple more golden statues to his collection.
Another exciting announcement from the recording academy is that Miley Cyrus and Elton John will take the stage TOGETHER to perform at the show. The pair will perform some of Elton’s most classic hits at the awards show, two days before a tribute concert honoring him called “Elton John: I’m Still Standing—A GRAMMY Salute”. At the tribute, Elton and his longtime writing partner are to receive the Recording Academy President’s Merit Award.
As if THAT’S not enough musical brilliance for you, previously announced performers include Alessia Cara, Cardi B, Childish Gambino, Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonsi, Kesha, Khalid, Lady Gaga, Logic, Bruno Mars, Pink, and SZA. So basically every single artist that’s been in the top 40 this past year.
The awards show is being hosted by James Corden, so we’re also keeping our fingers crossed for the most epic carpool karaoke opener of ALL TIME. The Grammy Awards air on Sunday, Jan. 28th, and you know we’ll be ALL OVER IT.
