2018 BET Award Nominations: Kendrick Lamar & DJ Khaled Take The Lead

Word on the street is DJ Khaled and Kendrick Lamar are at the top of the list for the most nominations at this year’s BET Awards.
It’s that time of year again, folks. The 2018 BET Awards are a little over a month away, so what better time to reveal the long list of nominees than, well, now? Leading the pack this year is DJ Khaled with a whopping SIX nominations and of those six include a nom for Album of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Collaboration, and Best Male Hip Hop Artist.
Kendrick follows closely behind DJ Khaled with five noms and is up against Khaled for a number of awards like Best Collaboration, Video of the Year. But perhaps Kendrick’s biggest competition of all might just be himself as he is up for the Album of the Year award for both DAMN and his Black Panther soundtrack.
Meanwhile Migos and SZA come in third with four nominations each. But don’t worry, these four weren’t the only ones up for multiple awards. Bruno Mars, Drake, Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Cardi B are also in the running for a number of big trophies.
As you know, the BET Awards aren’t just about music, they’re about film and acting as well and to no one’s surprise, the Black Panther film and cast have dominated these categories. Not only is the film up for Best Movie Award, the star-studded cast including Chadwick Boseman, Daniel Kaluuya, Michael B. Jordan, Sterling K. Brown, Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o, and Letitia Wright are all up for Best Actor/Actress respectively.
The 2018 BET Awards is set to air live on BET from Los Angeles, California on June 24th.
