Another year, another round of popcorn trophies to be awarded.
The MTV Movie & TV awards are always a crowd favorite and with Tiffany Haddish as this year’s host, no doubt the 2018 show will live up to the legacy. Nominations were announced this morning and Black Panther received the most nominations with seven nods. Stranger Things was a close second with six nominations. Black Panther’s nominations include best movie, best on-screen team, best performance in a movie and best hero for Chadwick Boseman, while Letitia Wright was nominated in the scene stealer category and Michael B. Jordan for best villain.
Stanger Things’ nominations include best show and best on screen team. Millie Bobby Brown was nominated for best performance in a show, Dacre Montgomery scored a nomination in the scene stealer category. Other movies and shows that earned multiple nominations include It, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Wonder Woman, Riverdale, Game of Thrones, and 13 Reason’s Why. Host Tiffany Haddish snagged two nominations of her own for her work in Girl’s Trip including Best Comedic Performance and scene stealer.
The nominations for best movie include Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, Girl’s Trip, It, and Wonder Woman. The nominations for Best Show include 13 Reasons Why, Game of Thrones, Grown-ish, Riverdale, and Stranger Things. The nominations for best performance in a movie include Chadwick Boseman, Timothee Chalamet, Ansel Elgort, Daisy Ridley, and Saoirse Ronan.
The nominees for Best Performance in a show are Millie Bobby Brown, Darren Criss, Katherine Langford, Issa Rae, and Maisie Williams. The nominees for Best Hero are Chadwick Boseman, Emilia Clarke, Gal Gadot, Grant Gustin, and Daisy Ridley. The nominees for Best Villaon are Josh Brolin, Adam Driver, Michael B. Jordan , Aubrey Plaza, and Bill Skarsgard. The nominees for Best Kiss are Gina Rodriguez and Justin Baldoni from Jane the Virgin, Nick Robinson and Keiynan Lonsdale from Love, Simon, Olivia Cooke and Tye Sheridan from Ready Player One, KJ Apa & Camila Mendes from Riverdale, and Finn Wolfhard and Millie Bobby Brown from Stranger Things. The nominations for Scene Stealer are Tiffany Haddish, Dacre Montgomery, Madelaine Petsch, Taika Waititi, and Letitia Wright. The nominations for Best Fight include Atomic Blonde, Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, Thor, and Wonder Woman. The nominations for best reality series and franchise, which is also one of my favorite categories include Love & Hip Hop, The Kardashians, Real Housewives, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and Vanderpump Rules.
