2016 People's Choice Award Nominations Announced

The polls are officially opened as the 2016 People’s Choice Award Nominations have just been announced, and we’re bringing you all the star-studded contenders right here on Clevver’s Trophy Life!
And a few major TV and musical names made the cut more than a handful of times this year, but we’re sure you could probably start listing some of those names with your eyes closed…
And of course some of those big names in the music biz come after celebs like Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Demi Lovato and Ed Sheeran to name a few totally took over the charts throughout the year, but we can’t say we’re surprised. But speaking of the newbies to the music world, The Weeknd brought in a total of 5 noms, including Favorite R&B artist and Favorite Breakout Artist, where he’s going up against Fetty Wap, Halsey, Shawn Mendes and Tori Kelly.
Taylor Swift scored herself a total of 4 nominations, including Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Song, Favorite Pop Artist and even crossed categories into the digital world for Favorite Social Media Celebrity against Anna Kendrick, Beyoncé, Britney Spears and Dwayne Johnson.
Demi Lovato and Ed Sheeran took in a total of 2 nominations each, going against each other in what will possibly be the year’s most competitive category, Favorite Pop Artist, up against Kelly Clarkson, Selena Gomez and T-Swift. And speaking of Sel Go, she’s earned herself a total of 3 noms, also crossing over into the movies category, up for Favorite Animated Movie Voice for her role in Hotel Transylvania 2.
Justin Bieber’s got himself 2 noms, for Favorite Song and Favorite Male Artist, and many other artists can be found on the nomination list, including Nick Jonas, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Ellie Goulding and a few musical groups going head to head, like Fifth Harmony, Maroon 5 and One Direction.
In the movie category, Jurassic World scored 2 noms as well as Chris Pratt scoring 2 for his lead role in the movie, Anna Kendrick brought in 2 nominations, as well as Pitch Perfect 2 scoring two also, including the category for Favorite Comedic Movie, going against The DUFF, Spy, Ted 2 and Trainwreck. Pitch Perfect 2 is also up against Avengers: Age of Ultron, Furious 7, Inside Out and Jurassic World for the Favorite Movie category.
And finally, a few of our fave TV shows that made the cut and each scored a nomination include Pretty Little Liars, The Vampire Diaries and Scream Queens. Emma Roberts is also nominated for her role in Scream Queens against her costars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lea Michele, and Lady Gaga, who is SLAYING (literally) the American Horror Story Hotel series is nominated in the Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actress Category, and the show itself brought in a nom as well.
So it seems as though this year’s People’s Choice Awards are obviously going to be one for the books and I don’t know how I’m going to decide on my votes, which will most likely lead to playing a game of Eenie-Meenie-Miney-Mo seeing that the competition will be a close one in ALL categories, BUT I want to know your thoughts on the nominations this year and let me in on some of your votes so get the conversation started right down here in the comments section.
