With Ciara and Ludacris as hosts, this year’s music awards are going to be EPIC to say the least. The duo appeared on Good Morning America this morning announcing the finalists in six different categories. Here’s a look at who’s up for Top New Artist.
They also announced the nominees for Top Male Artist, including Justin Bieber, Drake, Fetty Wap, Ed Sheeran, and The Weeknd. Top Female Artist, which include Adele, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift. Top New Artist, between Fetty Wap, OMI, Charlie Puth, Silento, and Bryson Tiller. And they even announced the nominees for Top Hot 100 Song.
Not long after the interview aired, five more categories were announced via live stream on ABC News this morning. Plus, we found out there’s even a category for Top Social Media Artist. Hmmm…this is going to be a good one because it’s between Justin, Selena, Ariana, Demi, and Taylor. Ah, I just don’t know who will win!
But everyone’s eyes will be on The Weeknd this year. The singer received 11 nominations, which is more than any other group or artist so we can’t wait to see how he makes out. PLUS, Adele is a finalist in 8 different categories. This could push her over the top and break Taylor’s previous record for holding 20 Billboard wins. There’s just so much going on!
The show will air live on May 22nd at 8pm Eastern Time on ABC. In the words of Ciara herself, QUOTE: “The Billboard Music Awards is one of the best award shows to honor chart success. It will definitely be a night to remember.”
