Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar and Seputeh MP Teresa Kok jointly slammed the decision of the judiciary to charge the group of troublemakers who attempted to rough up Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad in the Parliament compound last year.
They claim that the charge, under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act is not the appropriate charge as it concerns a member of parliament and should be looked at more seriously with Mahfuz elaborating that the Minor Offences Act is used to charge those who cause a fracas at football matches and in villages instead.
If found guilty, the assailants can be find up to RM100 each.
