More than 30,000 factory workers in S’gor found to be Covid-19 positive since July

The Selangor State Assembly (DUN) was told today that, so far, a total of 53,571 industrial workers were found to be positive for Covid-19 since July, through screening conducted at their respective workplaces.

Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said the screening was carried out by the employers as preparation before entering the workplace, close contact with positive co -workers, and the voluntary screening of the employees themselves at private health facilities.

He said of the total industrial workers infected, 62% were workers in the manufacturing sector, amount to 33,214 people.
