PEJUANG President Mukhriz Mahathir said that the competition that independent candidate Amir Khusyairi who was backed by his newly-formed party was stiff during the Slim by-election as he faced off with an opponent who had access to "unlimited resources".
Amir Khusyairi lost the by-election for the state seat to BN's Mohd Zaidi Aziz who emerged victorious with a landslide majority of 10,945 votes.
The Election Commission reported the voter turnout at 68.4%.
