Lawyers for Liberty executive director Eric Paulsen said there is a tendency for pathologists to `work hand in hand’ with the authorities with regards to police custodial deaths.
He said the death reports are written off as due to natural causes.
He added it is so easy for police to fix up suspects in police custody as the evidence can be falsified and lock up diaries can be doctored.
