On the day Oscar Pistorius was sentenced to five years imprisonment for culpable homicide, these intimate photographs of his South African girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp show her life before she met the Paralympian. School friend Kerry Smith, 37, captured these images of the beauty before her modelling days, when she was a law student aspiring to be the cover girl she eventually became. The images show Steenkamp, then 19, posing innocently on the beach at Port Elizabeth, South Africa where she grew up. Other photos shot by uni pal Kerry show a dark-haired, freckled Reeva with friends at a sleepover.
