Najib, Arul plead not guilty to tampering of 1MDB audit report

Former premier Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has claimed trial at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court to tampering a 1Malaysia Development Berhad final audit document.
He was accused of using his position then to gain protection from a civil disciplinary action by ordering the final audit report on 1MDB to be tampered before it was finalised and presented to the Public Accounts Committee.
Earlier on Wednesday, former 1MDB CEO Arul Kanda Kandasamy was also charged with abetting Najib in Feb 2016.
Both pleaded not guilty to their charges.
