Nick Jonas Talks Gay Sex Scenes on ‘Kingdom’

The season one finale of Nick Jonas’ MMA fighting-themed drama Kingdom aired on Wednesday night, and he’s now opening up about playing a gay character.
Yes, fans of the show had some sneaking suspicions that Nick’s character Nate was gay, but they got all the confirmation they needed during the finale when he was thrown out of a gay bar, then had a quick hook up with another fella.
Nick spoke to Buzzfeed about his character and revealed he’s game to take on more intimate gay scenes as season two draws near.
“I have trust in Byron [the show’s creator] and the writing team to tell these stories in a really honest and grounded way and it’s my responsibility as an actor to be that person and tell those stories the best I can. So, absolutely I will do all I need to do.”
Looks like he’s dedicated to the craft!
Nick also opened up about what his family thinks about his role on the show and spoiler alert – it’s all positive, calling their reaction quote “incredible.” He continued:
“My family was really proud of me for getting this role and they were excited for me to tell this story. Especially because it’s so important.”
He also added:
“The biggest thing I’ve learned through this is that you can’t have any fear when you’re acting. Any ounce of fear will show. You just have to become that person and live that life. I love that process and pushing myself in that way. I found that really rewarding in the end … I’m absolutely willing to go anywhere the story needs to go.”
Now no word yet on when season two of Kingdom will air on DirecTV, but we will keep you posted.
