No 'father' in PAS, UMNO alliance

The views of PAS members and representatives on the party's cooperation with UMNO will be the frontier in drafting the next step.
PAS vice-president, Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, described the diversity of views on the partnership as commonplace in any party.
At the same time, he said, PAS and UMNO do not see the need to decide who will lead the cooperation.
"There is nobody to raise who will be the 'father' (President) in the house, but in this situation, we do not specify who the father and who the mother is.
"Such voices simply add to how we think and do not hinder PAS and UMNO relations," he told
He also said that strategic alliance with UMNO, had more goals than choosing a specific name.
He said, everything that was discussed and debated was just a view before the party leadership took the next step.
