As if Directioners aren’t happy enough with getting the band’s new album release of Four, but fans are also getting some new Sesame Street footage and we get to see the guys helping out another good cause!
OK, so we’re just going to take one thing at a time here… First, let’s talk about 1’s latest Sesame Street video. Earlier this year they sang a helpful tune about the letter “U” set to their hit song “What Makes You Beautiful,” but apparently they waited until NOW to show us the WHOLE thing. Why? We’re not really sure, but either way, we’re totally digging it. Take a peek.
They make pretty good teachers, but something tells me that Directioners aren’t the ones who need to learn more about the letter U.
Moving along, let’s talk about 1D helping out Band Aid 30. Some background – Band Aid is a “charity supergroup” originally started in 1984 when a music producer united tons of British musicians to sing a little tune called “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” which helped raise money to fight the famine in Ethiopia.
Fast forward to NOW, to celebrate the song’s 30th anniversary, they’re doing a brand new version. Stars like 1D, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Chris Martin, Ellie Goulding, and many more have come together to record a cover of the popular song, and this time around proceeds from the song will help stop the spread of Ebola in West Africa. Check it out.
There’s apparently a lot of drama in reports about this organization and its founder – a quick little Google or chit-chat with someone from the UK might support – but it’s wonderful to see that the guys are lending their voices to a consumer-facing good cause. It’s awesome to spread the lover.
