Police have welcomed the government’s decision to consider tightening existing laws to curb the issue of driving under the influence.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Mazlan Mansor said harsher punishments were needed to tackle drunk-driving.
On Jan 29, Transport Minister Anthony Loke had said the government agreed in principle to tighten existing laws on driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
