Philippines opens cleaner, stricter Boracay to tourists

After a six month clean-up, the Philippines reopened its doors to its holiday island Boracay on Friday and promised sustainable tourism and a greener environment. The closure since April came after its president Rodrigo Duterte described the island a “cesspool” after seeing a video of dirty water being piped out to sea.
