Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim received Peru’s highest honour, the "El Sol del Peru", in recognition of his role as head of government during his first official visit to the Latin American nation since assuming office in 2022.

The conferment of decoration was done by Peruvian President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, and it took place at the Government Palace on Wednesday (Nov 13).

The Order “El Sol de Peru” or “The Sun of Peru”, grade of Gran Cross, is awarded to sovereigns, heads of state, heads of government, ministers of foreign affairs, ministers of state, accredited foreign ambassadors or presidents of public authorities.
