Civil servants who are lazy and have disciplinary issues will be excluded from getting automatic salary hikes, said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

He regarded the current remuneration system as unfair to civil servants who are dedicated to their jobs because even the lazy could enjoy an annual salary increase.

Thus, he announced that the government would introduce a mechanism to deny problematic officers from getting such benefits in the future.
