In a departure from the previous BN-led administration's policy, the Pakatan Harapan government has announced it would be giving allocations to opposition MPs.
However, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said allocation for members of the opposition would be less than what government MPs would be receiving.
Mahathir earlier said that MP service centres would also be allocated RM200,000, although it was unclear if this was only for government lawmakers or inclusive of opposition parliamentarians too.
He said the allocations would be given prior to Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
