The legendary Prince has died and the outpour of love and admiration is flooding in on social media. We have the initial Twitter reactions from some of your favorite celebs on the tragic news.
Prince’s death was confirmed Thursday morning by his publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, who released a formal statement saying QUOTE - “It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary iconic performer, Prince, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57.” Demi Lovato was one of the first to tweet her disbelief upon hearing the news saying QUOTE - “Omg….RIP Prince…. This fucking sucks... Prince on repeat all day. Just like I did with Michael and Whitney.” Zendaya Tweeted - “Prince…there’s no way.” Katy Perry said - “And just like that…the world lost a lot of magic. Rest in peace Prince! Thanks for giving us so much…” Shonda Rhimes said - “I can't. I just can not. #Prince” Justin Timberlake expressed his disbelief saying QUOTE - “Numb. Stunned. This can't be real.” Charlie Puth said - “A culture pushing icon and creative genius. Rest in peace Prince.” Frankie Grande tweeted a Prince quote saying - "Every day I feel is a blessing from God. & I consider it a new beginning. Yeah, everything is beautiful." ~ Prince.” Ellen Degeneres praised the icon saying - “Prince was brilliant and larger than life. What a sad day.” Ryan Seacrest said - “today we lost a music legend #RIPPrince.” Nick Jonas tweeted - “One of my biggest inspirations. A true icon. You will be missed. Sad sad news today... #RIPPrince” Questlove of the Roots said – “I can't fucking breathe right now. Long Live The King.” Laura Marano was at a loss for words upon hearing the news about her hero saying QUOTE - “Oh my god....Prince is literally one of my heroes. I don't even know what to say right now I'm sending as much love as I can to his family.” Blake Shelton said - “Dang it… Truly hate hearing we lost Prince. Sad day..”
Nile Rogers, who worked closely with Prince tweeted his support with a Prince reference saying QUOTE - “#RIP our dearly beloved #Prince. Tears and love on our tour bus. I’ll never forget my brother. We’ve had #goodtimes.” Kelly Rowland said – “Thank you God for letting us experience the GREATNESS that is Prince! What a blessing! #RipPrince.” Chelsea Clinton also thanked Prince for his gifts saying QUOTE – “Thank you Prince. All my thoughts & prayers are with all your loved ones.”
