University lecturers Professor Datin Dr Zahurin Mohamed and Professor Dr Ruby Husain initiated the Ramadan Food Basket project in 2010 to raise funds for food items and distributed it the people in need. In 2019, the group, in collaboration with NGO welfare organisation, Baitul Fiqh collected RM60,000 for their efforts.
