Click Here To Subscribe! ► - I have had so many requests for me to choose a good introduction short course truck suitable for a new hobbyist. I figured it was time. I have been researching the available products on the market and there are many choices. I have a few criteria that I wanted to make sure I followed when choosing - and this truck really ticked each box on that list.
For a Newbie Vehicle this is what I would expect:
1) RTR or "Ready To Run" - Meaning it should come with Battery & Charger, Radio and Truck
2) The Ability to Race / (Stock truck for track rules)
3) NiMH Battery (Safer than a Lipo high output battery)
4) 2WD (fewer powered, spinning tires - but offering a lesson in traction)
5) Lightweight (Can take a crash without too much damage)
6) Brushed Motor (this offers a controllable rate of speed)
7) Waterproof (Can it go through water, and keep going?)
8) 2.5 ghz Radio with only 4 batteries needed.
9) readily available parts support.
And last, but not least -
10) AFFORDABLE!
This truck meets those requirements. I think this might be a good candidate - and I look forward to running video through some slush puddles!

Best part is - just like many other RC models - this one is built to be upgraded. The drive shafts seem pretty solid - BUT, I don't want to make a call on the drive train until I run it. But from what I see in this video and how it felt, Im happy to go to the next level with it.

Overview
The ECX® Torment™ Short Course Truck is among the best handling, most durable, beginner-friendly RC vehicles on the market.
