Doing a video series on this is like watching paint dry.. so here is a update summary: I've been quiet in making videos for a few days because the project I am working on is taking much of my time. Prepping and painting the RC shop floor! For the last 2.5 years, I have been building and filming in my shop with the intention to strip and seal the concrete floor. Finally, during these colder winter months, my heated shop is nearly perfect for painting. In the spring time there is far too much wind that blows around the fine dirt - making it near impossible to do such a huge job. My shop concrete is approximately 1300 square foot area.
The challenge for me is to to it in sections allowing time for cleaning, etching, drying, painting, drying, and painting again. About 2 days time to get a section done. I have about 1/4th of my floor done now, and I expect this project to take me a few weeks to get it done right.
This does not mean I have stopped filming RC though! Just means that my shop needs a facelift, and a way to make it easier to sweep and clean the concrete.
Another advantage of having a good paint job on the concrete, is now the RC Adventures will POP! The Trucks and Cars should look really good on the new floor. After the floor is done.. then I have to sand and paint the shelves and cupboards. I will do that job in the spring.
For those who want to know, I am using Valspar Concrete sealer/paint. I picked it up at Lowes. Not, not sponsored.. just letting you know!
