Facing two counts of corruption charges, Tasek Gelugor MP Wan Saiful Wan Jan has offered to step down from his position as Bersatu information chief.

He said his offer was made in line with a personal stance to not be likened to a list of politicians - mostly now in government - branded as the "court cluster".

"I propose that I be replaced with another eligible individual from our party (Bersatu) and for the matter to be decided by the party leaders," Wan Saiful said during a press conference at the Parliament lobby today.

"So no party should ever liken me to any individuals from the court cluster," he added.
