Rihanna Slides Into Fan's DMs To Help Them Get Over Their First Heartbreak

So if you’ve ever been tempted to slide into your fave artist’s DMs, well, it just might pay off some day…
If you’re anyone who’s anyone, at one point, you’ve turned to an artist’s music or lyrics to guide you through a tough time, but it’s rare when an artist sets time aside to actually give fans advice… take it from this fan, who got the Royal RiRi treatment when he slid into Rihanna’s DMs and directly asked her how to get over a broken heart.
The fan, who goes by the name @WaladShami on Twitter reached out to RiRi yesterday via direct message, saying QUOTE, “Hey Robs… how did you get over your first heartbreak? I’ve been struggling,” and if you’re currently going through a heartbreak, I’d advise you to listen good, because what Rihanna replied back was the simple piece of advice I only wish I’d received after my first breakup.
She said QUOTE, “Just believe that the heartbreak was a gift in itself! Cry if you have to, but it won’t be forever! You will find love again and, it will be even more beautiful! In the meantime, enjoy all that YOU are!!!!”
Couldn’t have said it better myself! But although Rihanna and this fan seem to be on a first-name basis, seeing that he called her by her birth name Robin, who knew it was THAT easy to casually slide into the DMs of a Grammy-winning-humanitarian-global-icon-all-around-badass like Rihanna and get Grade-A relationship advice in return?
In all seriousness though, I’ve gotta point out how refreshing it is to see Rihanna always making time for her fans and giving back whenever she can… and believe it or not, this isn’t the first time Rihanna has come to the aid of fans in need. Last year, she helped a fan come out and encouraged him to be honest with his loved ones, saying, “Baby it's okay to be scared, but it's more important to be who you really are! That's not a decision to be made! As hard as it may seem, the best s--t ever is freedom and peace with yourself! Your family may not understand, but luckily you live in a generation that does!! And not to mention the community here amongst us, we will hold you down boo!!”
Back in 2013, Rihanna also helped a fan struggling with trust issues with men, saying that any time she has trust issues, she assumes that it has a lot to do with her own insecurities and intuition, saying, “My advice, which is exactly what I’ve done, is if s--t isn’t making sense to me, I’m out. I mean cold turkey! I always need to step out of it to see it for what it is cuz I refuse to let a man play me. If he has no respect, he just doesn’t! But you don’t have to allow it or be bound by it.”
So hey, next time you’re in need of a quick pick-me-up or some advice on, say, dating, breakups or you just need someone to talk to, try sliding into the DMs of your favorite artist, because you might just be pleasantly surprised at the outcome.
