The Road Transport Department has responded to a shocking special report published by Malaysiakini this morning.
The Malaysiakini article outlined how corrupt practices have resumed almost a year after the Penang Road Transport Department was crippled after the MACC picked up 46 enforcement officers.
MACC’s move spooked officers in other states, prompting them to tell logistics companies to stop bribing them, for fear that they, too, will come on the MACC's radar.
But now they’re back, this time even demanding to be compensated for the months during which the bribes stopped flowing.
