Caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Nor has formally apologized to the Sultan of Selangor for recent comments that were perceived as an affront to the monarch.

The apology was issued after accusations that his comments had been taken out of context by political opponents.

Sanusi clarified his intentions in a statement published on his official Facebook page.

He confirmed that the apology had been communicated to the Selangor Palace via a written letter, which the Sultan read the previous day.
